Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Currently, our classroom lacks an efficient system for storing and accessing math manipulatives. As a result, students often face difficulties finding and using these essential tools, which impacts their ability to engage in hands-on learning activities effectively. Effective learning environments are critical to student success. My goal is to improve our classroom setup by integrating specialized cubby storage and bins designed for math manipulative. The cubby storage and bins I'm requesting will help to better organize math manipulatives, thereby fostering an environment that supports interactive learning, promotes student independence, and enhances educational outcomes.

Students will have a designated space to independently reach for the manipulative and provide the necessary skills to take empowerment of their own learning.

Many of our students come from families facing economic hardships and challenging circumstances. They are part of the Central Valley's agricultural and working-class community. Despite these obstacles, they consistently demonstrate remarkable resilience and determination in their learning journey. My students bring a wealth of diverse talents and strengths to the classroom. They exhibit creativity, curiosity, and a strong desire to succeed, which can be further nurtured with the right tools and resources. My students show a genuine eagerness to engage in hands-on, interactive learning. They thrive in environments that offer practical experiences and foster their curiosity. My students are a testament to their families' dedication and aspirations for a better future.
