My Project

To enhance my kindergarten classroom, I am seeking sensory items, sports equipment, and STEM materials to better support my students' diverse needs and foster social-emotional development.

This year I am starting my 13th year of teaching and my 6th year in Kindergarten.

I am excited to have students will diverse needs varying developmental delay, autism, speech disorders, attention deficits, etc. I would love to have items that will promote self regulation, communication, and overall health and wellness.

1. Sensory Items:

Many students in my classroom have unique sensory needs that can influence their ability to focus, self-regulate, and actively participate in learning. Sensory items, such as fidget tools, weighted blankets, and tactile toys, are vital for helping these children manage sensory input effectively. By offering calming or stimulating experiences, these tools can reduce anxiety, improve focus, and create a more inclusive and supportive learning environment.

2. Sports Equipment:

Physical activity plays a key role in the holistic development of young children. Beyond promoting physical health, it also contributes to cognitive growth and emotional well-being. Access to sports equipment will allow me to design structured physical activities that help students develop gross motor skills, teamwork, and self-regulation. These activities provide a necessary outlet for energy, enabling students to better concentrate during academic tasks.

3. STEM Materials:

Introducing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) materials in the classroom encourages early exploration, critical thinking, and problem-solving. These hands-on resources promote inquiry-based learning, helping students build essential foundational skills. Additionally, engaging in STEM activities supports social-emotional development by encouraging collaboration, communication, and perseverance.

Integrating these resources into my classroom will create a more dynamic, inclusive, and supportive learning environment, empowering all students to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
