Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is located in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. This community has a large Hispanic and Asian population. Our school has approximately 1,200 students with over 50% of our students and families English Language Learners and students with special needs.

Physical Education provides students with the knowledge, and skills they need to live a healthy lifestyle.

Students absolutely love coming to the gym for PE class. They enjoy learning new activities, games, and skills that they can apply to their everyday life. Physical education also teaches students the importance of working as a team, and supporting others which are essential tools for when they enter the workforce.

My Project

Physical Education class is an important part of students' education. By using these materials students will learn new and fun ways in which they can live a healthier lifestyle. Students will use the volleyballs, and volleyball net to learn the fundamental skills of volleyball, as well as learn to develop team strategies. Students will use the mini basketballs, playground balls to improve their throwing, catching, and dribbling skills. The portable ball locker will be used to help store equipment needed for physical education class.

Your donation to this project will help over 1,200 students in my school get on the right road to do their part to fight childhood obesity.

With your help students can start developing their own fitness program. Teaching students the importance of exercise is key to their overall health.
