My Project

As an bilingual teacher who work with English Language Learner students, I have seen firsthand the challenges my students face in mastering phonics skills. Many of my students are new to the English language and struggle to decode words, which hinders their ability to read and comprehend texts. To address this, I am requesting funding for a phonics center that will provide my students with hands-on, interactive activities to practice and enhance their

The goal of this project is to create a comprehensive phonics center that will support the language development of my ENL students.

The center will include a variety of materials and activities that will help students develop phonemic awareness, phonics skills, and fluency such as; phonic games, pop cvc words, building sentences center, world building dominos, Sight-Word Sentences Center, Elkonin Boxes center and other phonic activities centers to help them learn and acquire the new language.

This materials will be used to create a phonics center that will be accessible to all my ENL students. The center will be organized into different stations, each focusing on a specific phonics skill, such as word families, blends, or digraphs. Students will rotate through the stations, working in small groups or independently, to practice and reinforce their phonics skills.

My ENL students are predominantly from low-income families and are new to the English language. They face significant challenges in accessing educational resources and materials, which is why I am seeking funding to support this project.
