This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The freezer we are requesting will play a crucial role in maintaining the cold temperature necessary for oyster growth in our tank. By using the reusable ice cubes created from this freezer, students will engage in hands-on learning about temperature regulation and its impact on marine ecosystems. This practical experience will not only enhance their understanding of scientific concepts but also encourage them to develop critical thinking skills as they monitor and analyze the effects of temperature on oyster development.

Our primary goal is to support the healthy growth of oysters while fostering a deeper understanding of marine biology among our students.

We aim to create an engaging learning environment where students can conduct experiments and observe the effects of temperature on oyster health. Additionally, we seek to encourage teamwork and collaboration as students work together on research projects, ultimately raising awareness about marine conservation and the importance of sustainable practices in our ecosystems.

Our students are a diverse group with a shared passion for learning and a strong interest in environmental science. They are eager to engage in hands-on projects that have real-world applications, demonstrating curiosity and a commitment to making a positive impact in their community. This project will not only provide them with valuable insights into marine biology but also empower them to become advocates for environmental sustainability, allowing them to take pride in their contributions to preserving our oceans for future generations.
