Enhancing Our Sound Meditations

My Students

We are a gifted and talented classroom in Brooklyn, New York. My classroom is filled with intellectually stimulated students, however, they are all diverse and learn in their own unique way.

My gifted students take such pride in their learning environment and we spend a great deal of time in our classroom together.

Social-emotionally, gifted students enjoy their time with self-exploration and independent projects that gear to their interests. I love allowing my students to use our classroom as a second home. My students enjoy using the classroom resources and centers that enrich their learning. Each year, adding a new component to my classroom brings such joy to the children and a refreshing excitement for me. I am so happy that Donors Choose makes that possible!

I feel my new project, creating sound with mindfulness will aid to an enhanced awareness that will make learning more accessible to my students. Sound meditation with allow for an enhanced focus and decrease adverse feelings that our littles encounter daily. Thanks for checking in!

My Project

These instruments will be such a benefit to our classroom community. Our sound healing instrument selection has grown over the last 2 months and the students have enjoyed hearing them, as well as playing them. I often hear cheers of joy when I tell them that we're having a sound mediation. It is quite cute to see how much they love it and out drawn to the healing of sound.

Through writing reflections, I can see how useful our meditations are for them.

They use our time with sound to relax, be present, focus on positive thoughts, and love themselves and others. I can't express how much of a gift it is for the children. Please help in supporting my project to increase our sound healing meditation times together.

I plan on sharing these tools with other teachers in the building, so that they may offer this gist to their students as well!
