My Project

It is safe to say I have been blessed. I am fortunate enough to teach in a 4th grade classroom! I have a large classroom size of 25 students. Within this classroom each student brings his/her own talents, learning styles and challenges into the classroom which helps create a diverse student population. We focus on living out our classroom mission statement: We promise to be responsible, respect all in the school community, to live out the 7 habits and become future leaders.

Having a new cozy corner/flexible seating would help allow my students to be in charge of their learning and make choices that work best for their needs.

During paired reading or close reading students are encouraged to move around the room and make themselves comfortable to help spark their Reading adventures. Having a variety of book genres can permit free choices and create Reading interests but also to spark their own motivation. Small group learning in a cozy corner is highly effective especially for my students who are English as a Second Language Learners (ESL). With the provided use of manipulatives as well as the use of white boards and markers it will help develop skills needed for Reading!
