This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have the pleasure of working with an amazing group of creative students that have been trained to promote social and emotional learning at our school. My students are always on a quest to soak up all of the information that they can. Technology opens up a broad scope of what can be researched and enjoyed. My students really benefit from experiences outside of their communities. Technology helps create that experience.
I have an inquisitive group of elementary students, who are always eager to learn.
They attend a Title I school, where they all qualify for free breakfast and lunch. Nearly all of them come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. For many of my students, school is the only place where they have access to the use of technology. Despite the obstacles, my students come to school every day, to a place where they are being molded into great students and learners.
My Project
I have the pleasure of working with an amazing group of creative students that have been trained to promote social and emotional learning at our school. When presenting upcoming activities, we have used freelance drawings and stencils to make posters and banners. Our students take pride in their work and I know the opportunity to raise their work to a higher level with the use of the cricut machine will do wonders for their self esteem. The students' final projects will be more precise and more attractive.
The cricut machine will teach my students a more modern way of enhancing their projects in an efficient and effective manner.
The cricut will allow the students to create empowering designs that will be displayed on t-shirts, posters, stickers and many other projects throughout the building. The personalization of the projects will allow the students to be more engaged in their learning and development process.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
