My Project

Physical Education is meant to be fun and engaging. It gives students an opportunity to step outside and move around over sitting down in an indoor classroom. It can become difficult to give the students what they need with the lack of facilities. Teachers are so good at adapting, so the question becomes how can we use creative ways to encourage physical activity in our PE classes even when there is a lack of facilities? I feel that this portable volleyball net can make a huge difference in the students learning because it gives an extra resource to be used on grass which can open up the other facilities: gym, tennis court, and football field.

The goal of this project is to gain resources that will allow our PE department to teach specific lessons in different facilities.

For example, with the portable volleyball net we could teach volleyball or even badminton on any grassy area on campus that is large enough to fit the net. This will open the opportunity to teach other fitness activities and games.

My students are special because they work so hard in the classroom. They deserve to have the opportunity to explore different fitness games and sports to determine which activities they like. Health is so important and if my students are able to find a liking or a passion that helps them promote their physical fitness they will be able to carry that on with them forever.
