My Project

The students that I teach are all special education students with many different learning deficits. They also have all been impacted by COVID 19 and missing in -person learning for a period of time. Some students are just returning back to the classroom for the first time this year. Most, if not all, are suffering from anxiety and depression on top of their individual learning needs. With the use of fidgets, the students are able to release their anxiety and remain focused during class lessons. My co-teachers and I have also decided to incorporate more music into the school day. Studies have proven that classical music has helped to increase productivity and the result in students' work.

We would like to play music during writing workshops in ELA class.

This school year, our team has a few students who struggle to remains focused or remain awake during class. With the help of sensory cushions, we hope to help these students be better able to stay awake and remain focused throughout the school day.

Please help me to help my students have a more enhanced learning environment that can better address their social emotional needs and their educational needs.
