Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school serves students with disabilities from low income families. My class is a self-contained 6:1:1 elementary class that is comprised of 6 students living with autism. My students have educational, social-emotional, communication, and sensory needs.

Each of my students is extraordinary in their own way.

For this reason, we work our hardest to meet their needs and support them to reach their goals. Our students are learning math, science, social studies, and language arts through adapted lessons, teaching materials, and learning environment.

My Project

At the beginning of the school year, my classroom was moved to the other side of the building. The main office of my school is located where my previous classroom was. I do not have direct access to the school's printer. Currently, I get to school very early in order to print my lessons, materials, and homework everyday so that I have time left for planning, organizing instructional materials, and sanitizing my classroom.

I need a printer to maximize my time to create individualized instruction to help my students reach their full potential.

Having a printer in the classroom will help me provide the students with resources they need. Resources such as visual support, individualized schedules, workstation materials, etc.
