My Students

My students live in a low socioeconomic community. Most of them receive free or reduced-price lunch based on their financial status. My students attend a Title I school in Miami, FL. They also have little support from home. Many of them are being raised in single parent households. These students are in great need of technology equipment and school supplies.

I teach in a high poverty school district where my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom.

Despite the many challenges they face, they always walk into the classroom every day full of life, excited and ready to learn new skills. I am looking forward to providing them a new taste of a learning experience that can help them explore new ideas and improve their academic performance. In addition, they are very creative, clever and very punctual when it comes to learning new ideas in school. They like to move, read stories and need lots of positive attention. I am a teacher who always believes that every student can achieve something positive in their lives, regardless of their ethnic and socioeconomic background.

My Project

The technology equipment that I am requesting will increase students' engagement in class. The iPad and the tablets will be used during small and large group instruction to complete their I-Ready assignments online. Your generous contribution will provide me the resources necessary to boost students learning through an online I-Ready reading and math program. The technology equipment will change our reading program structure and raise students achievement level in reading comprehension as well as in math skills. My main goal is to target students weaknesses in both subject areas. By implementing this technology instructional model, my student will begin to show growth during differentiated instruction, topic assessment, and weekly assessment. My main objective is to create a classroom environment where every child can use various way of learning to achieve success. I strongly believe that if students are equipped with the proper tools, they have a better chance to be more productive in their learning and be successful. I am in need of your support to make this amazing dream become a reality!
