This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have about 100 seventh graders I work with, all curious and hungry for learning. They are a diverse group of students with a range of school background.
My 7th graders are at an optimum age for soaking information...developmentally, their brains are essentially sponges.
Hands-on activities make learning tangible and helps makes it relevant to their lives.
I see them seeking ways to make their education apply to their real lives. They ask inquisitive questions, seek knowledge, and want to succeed in school and life.
My Project
My students need a new laser engraver to emphasize the Art in STEAM Fridays. We were grateful to receive a laser engraver a few years back through DonorsChoose but the laser burnt out from all of the use. We have engraved their IDs to be more personal, cell phone cases, and even our own pencils!
Please consider helping my 7th graders continue with personalizing and engraving everything in site!
It is important to have options involving art in the students' Maker Space so that we can improve our STEAM lessons. The engraver and cutter will help with the ART and Technology in STEAM!
