Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work with multicultural students. Most of my students are English Language Learners. Currently I have 25 kindergarten students who are always trying to sit in the front row to see what is going on. A projector would be a great teaching tool that will allow ALL of my students to have a front row seat.

Despite their language barrier, the lack of school supplies/resources, and the lack of technology in my classroom, my multicultural young students are so excited to learn and grow.

My priority as a second language educator is to give each student every opportunity to grow beyond everyone's expectations. Having a projector and an ELMO document camera in the classroom to work with will help us move towards that goal.

My Project

My kindergarten English Language Learners students will benefit from having access to a projector and an ELMO document camera. The projector and the ELMO document camera will definitely allow ALL of them to see classwork, examples and teacher modeling for different activities. The projector and the ELMO document camera will project anything we are working on onto a large screen for all to see. Modeling each step will help my multicultural students practice the correct way of doing things. Whether it is introducing a new math concept, phonics, letter formation, rhyming words, sight words, or conducting a science experiment, the students will all have the opportunity to see and to engage in each activity. Also the students will be able to use the projector and the document camera to share with their peers activities they are working on.

The projector and the ELMO document camera will enhance my multicultural English Language Learners' listening, reading and speaking skills by sharing with their peers activities they are working on.
