My students are English language learners in grades K-5. I have 79 students who in addition to learning English also face daily challenges of acclimating to a new culture, neighborhood, clothing, social situations and even food.
They are students who are kind, diverse, energetic, motivated, and genuinely love to learn.
They come from a variety of cultures in countries ranging from the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Haiti, Yemen, Chad, Guinea-Bissau and more. My students are some of the nicest people you will ever meet and they deserve the opportunity to show everyone what they can do despite the language barrier.
They feel comfortable and confident when they come to ENL class because they are all working towards the common goal of becoming proficient English speakers while embracing their native languages and backgrounds.
These materials will help my students reach their goals of being proficient English speakers while reinforcing and supporting content area skills. With the help of these resources, my students will be able to practice reading, writing, listening and speaking in a variety of ways to reach their different learning styles and needs.
These resources will allow for the English language to be brought to life for my English Language Learners of all abilities and backgrounds.
The language quickie games foster independent reinforcement in groups for a variety of skills in phonics, vocabulary, grammar, literature and informational text. The fill in the blank magnetic set will be wonderful for my early readers who need the picture and tactile support while learning how to read. Students will be able to use tactile magnetic letters to literally build the words according to the picture and clues provided.
Your support and more will allow my students to make important contributions to their community by helping them learn English.
