My Students

I teach in a District 75 School in the larger NYCDOE public school system. My students are children diagnosed with severe cognitive and developmental disabilities. I like to think of them as children who have more challenges to overcome than their typically developing peers. My students face obstacles in very basic areas such as communication and daily living skills and have many academic needs, in addition to being English Language Learners.

My students are brave, strong, hard-working, Multilingual Learners who impress me, surprise me, and make me smile each time we're together.

My Project

BrainPop ELL will give my students a way to show what they are learning in our lessons. My students are fully remote and I am working remotely with them.

I have students in grades K - 5 with varying abilities and learning over video sessions is quite challenging for some.

Using digital interactive resources in consistent routines helps make learning more predictable for students and the families helping them. Each student will get their own account and earn rewards while I get to track and monitor their progress.

My hope is that BrainPop ELL will help reinforce lessons for even my most-challenged students while making learning fun.
