Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In my ELA class, students complete many projects to demonstrate mastery in authentic ways such as infographics and multi-slide presentations online. I like to print out these projects and use them in (often multicultural) displays on my door for the entire school to see. Currently, I am limited to printing black and gray on copy paper. If I have enough projects submitted early, I have the option to download them and then upload them to an email request for color printing with the graphics department. The turnaround time for such requests tends to be about two weeks because there is no full-time employee in that position.

Students have told me this year that they like when I print their projects in color because it shows that I have put in effort to showcase their work.

Other students have said that when a project is created with color, it looks best when printed in color because you can see all of the details. The Epson Eco printer will enable me to print in high quality color on the spot. I can also laminate exemplars to use as examples in the future.

The other supplies will help students in their day-to-day hands on color coded annotating and cutting out of images and notes.
