Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students will help my students achieve English language acquisition in a fun and creative manner. All of my students are immigrants, and most of them just arrived in the U.S. I strive to make their transition to their new country as easy as possible, incorporating their culture within my lessons, while they are learning English and American traditions. My students are culturally diverse, talented, eager to learn, and hardworking. These materials and supplies will allow me to create engaging lessons for my students. I will be having a Thanksgiving feast following our traditions unit, where my students and their families will bring a typical dish from their countries, and we will gather and share our traditional dishes as we celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday. The fall-colored cardstock will be used for my students to create invitations that will be sent home. The fall maple trees and garland will be used to decorate the tables where we will be dining. Please help us bring our traditions unit to life with our Thanksgiving feast.
