Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in a low socio-economic and predominantly English Learners, and 95% Free and Reduced-price lunch public elementary school K-6 that is in a rural area near San Bernardino, CA. I lead the Gifted and Talented Education program for 3-6th graders and am trying to add more Computer Science content to our afterschool program and the Community. Creative, excited, and intrigued, my students, can't wait to be in all things Computer Science. The students want to have the tools, materials, and any resources they need to make their imagination come to life with Computer Science and Cardboard! They are warriors when it comes to technology, and as 21st-century learners, they need to actively make changes in their world!

My Project

Each item has a spot in my classroom. The organizational shelving will be placed in our MakerSpace area to keep all of our robotic materials and accessories safe. The materials will fit perfectly in the shelving and give the students an organized work area.

The Zip Snip tool will be used by the students to cut and manipulate cardboard and other materials into any creation they can imagine as the skeleton of their robots.

The Crop Dile to create the skeletal parts of their Robots. These tools and accessories will enhance our workspace area, and help students create magnificent masterpieces.
