Engineering Through LEGO

My Project

With the additional SPIKE Prime and Expansion Sets, my students will not only have the opportunity to work on more projects in general, but they will also learn how to develop more complex creations. By using these new tools, I will be able to challenge my students with harder designs and give them the chance to focus on problem-solving through various competitive LEGO-related obstacles with the goal of preparing them to participate in the FIRST LEGO League. In creating their own designs, my students will learn how to solve real-world problems using math and science skills that they have been taught in other classes.

Importantly, LEGO sets are great for students who are not able to use other kinds of tools due to their disabilities; they give these students a way to try engineering projects and to test designs and mechanical principles, particularly before moving on to bigger projects that cannot be remedied if a mistake is made.
