Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students apply to attend our neighborhood STEM magnet because they want to experience more Science, engineering, technology, and mathematics. However, teachers are taxed with demands to cover district mandated curriculum, Students desire novel experiences and resources to explore building, engineering, and scientific ideas. These materials will be used as centers in the STEM Lab and Science Lab for classes to use during weekly visits. Students will build a variety of bridge types, and be challenged to increase heights and widths of structures they construct with the Keva Planks. Students will deepen understandings of how our world's structures incorporate the geometric shapes they learn about in school with the magna tiles. Marble Runs assist students in learning about forces, and movements, and systems.
