My Project

We have all been there, knee-deep in Ikea instructions, screws, and a basic screwdriver. It wasn't until a friend said "You need a degree in engineering to put this together" that I realized preparing disabled students for life, meant teaching them the basics of engineering. Following instructions, using basic tools, putting together pieces of something, problem-solving, trial and error, and more are all skills our students need.

The tools in this project will give us the chance to give our students the basic engineering skills they need for day-to-day life.

Putting together a quick shelf, sanding a rough edge, and using a tape measure, are just a few things you need to know to live independently. The tables and chairs are a start to a comfortable workspace, the tools are to get us going with the basics, and the safety equipment will make sure the students are safe.
