My Project

I am the occupational therapist at our elementary school. I work with students who qualify for special education to improve their academic goals to achieve their dreams. Specifically, I focus on regulation to improve focus and accessing education in my space. Once regulated using sensory tools, students use various tools to build and strengthen their fine motor skills.

My students are the engineers, nurses, teachers and citizens of the future.

I am requesting STEM supplies, building supplies and supplies to organize the OT space. One of the larger items I am requesting is a lego table to organize and build structures focusing on hand strengthening. When in my space, students often focus on foundational skills and then work on transferring that back into the classroom setting. The supplies that I have requested will ensure that my students have the necessary resources to build knowledge of their bodies, fine motor skills and hand strengthening.
