My Project

Sensory tables are like seaerching for treasure for the youngest learners! They allow students to engage their senses as they play and learn at the same time. Imagine scooping rice, squishing sand and splashing water; it's not just fun, it is a workout for their brains!

The items provided will allow students to do all of these while reinforcing skills being taught in the classroom!

Children get to explore different textures and shapes with their senses to them better understand the world around them. Sensory tables are also an invaluable tool for promoting social interaction and communication skills. They allow children engage in cooperative play and take turns with their classmates.

This sensory table and accessories will be especially beneficial to my students with ASD. My school has a very high special education population and we strongly believe in including all students in as many experiences as possible. This sensory table will provid a safe and engaging environment for all students to engage in sensory exploration, which will help my students with sensory integration and regulation. These different textures, colors, and materials in the table can help children with ASD develop their sensory processing skills and helps all students with their fine motor skills!
