Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

In my middle school science classroom, we have all types of learners. They have all different backgrounds and are a very diverse group. Each of them has different needs in order to learn, in my opinion, the most comprehensive and interesting curriculum...SCIENCE! I personally love mathematics, but I teach science because I can use all kinds of labs, experiments, and hands-on experiences to engage my students. I also love using technology to engage my students. I am the techy teacher in my school. I am a life-long learner. I love coming back to my school and sharing what I learned with my colleagues.

I am looking forward to attending the Teach Your Heart Out Conference to inspire my students and fellow teachers with everything that I learn.

I want to engage my middle school students with what we are learning and make it come to life for them. Being a pre-teen and teenager is a difficult time in their lives. I want my classroom to be a safe haven where they come to learn, have fun and become life-long learners.

My Project

Students want to see the relevance of what they are learning to their real life. By attending this conference, I will bring back a multitude of ideas on how to engage my students to make learning fun and relevant. They will look for to coming to school. I will be the "Wild Card" that brings different experiences for them to remember what they learned.

It is difficult for teachers to attend these conferences because of the costs.

I am the Professional Development Liaison in my school. I will also share what I learned with my colleagues during our Professional Learning Communities.
