My Project

One of the many impacts of the COVID shutdown was the ability for students to move and fidget in the comfort of their own homes. It is now increasingly difficult for them to remain engaged in a stagnant classroom. While fun, engaging activities are common in my room, sometimes direct instruction is required. I have found that allowing students to sit flexibly and to have items in their hands (preferably not cell phones) helps them to stay focused during times of direct instruction. Having so many students makes creating this neurodivergent classroom expensive!
