My Project
I teach an amazing group of 3rd, 4th and 5th graders with a range of disabilities from Autism, Specific Learning Disabilities, ADHD and Emotional Disturbance. These students have a wide range of backgrounds socially and economically.
I want my students to have the same learning opportunities as their typical peers.
THEY want to learn, understand, and be a part of activities, just like everyone else! My students require a multitude of learning strategies and materials in order to reach their true potential. This involves many different ways of teaching and tools for engagement.
My students LOVE to learn through technology and enjoy moving around the classroom while they learn and work with me or a small group. They are so curious and it is very rewarding as a teacher when their light bulb goes off or something clicks and they start striving academically and socially.
Technology is a students best friend! We will be able to do research projects (animals, presidents, science, etc.), make slides and videos, watch educational videos and work on educational apps.
My students are happy when they can work on computers and iPads. I would love to give them the opportunity to be excited about learning.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
