My Students

My kindergarten classroom is full of energetic and active learners. They love to work on the floor, standing up and even laying on their stomachs. They love to jump, sing, play and dance. Their abilities and needs range from just learning the English Language to being beginning readers.

My students are eager, energetic and very curious to learn about the world around them!

For many of my students, kindergarten is their first school experience. They are like sponges that just love to learn new things every day.

My Project

One of the biggest goals in kindergarten is for all of my students to learn to read. The best way to accomplish this goal is to ensure that my students have access to exciting and engaging alphabet materials. They need to play and practice with a variety of different tools to learn the letters and sounds of the alphabet!

I carefully selected a few, fun literacy games for this project that I believe my students will not only enjoy doing but will be learning to read along the way!

My students already have different set of learning locks in our classroom and they are a huge hit. The locks that I am requesting in this project will allow my students to sound out simple words and find the matching picture. They know they are correct if the key will open the lock! The learning centers gives students a hands on way to explore letters. They will search for letters in a sensory treasure tub, build letters piece by piece, and practice writing their letters using the magic boards. The alpha-bots are the perfect addition to our play centers. With a twist and turn, these ordinary letters will turn into extraordinary robots! Students will boost their they letter skills as they play with these alpha-bots with their friends. This project is all about helping my students learn to read but having fun too!
