Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our Third Grade students are a talented mix of special education students,English as a new language learners and students who's families are struggling due to the effects of COVID 19's economic tug. Schools across the nation face budget cuts. Families of our students are essential workers they have even lost their jobs. It will be difficult to purchase school supplies for one or more children. PS361Q Third grade teachers are searching for ways our students can make their learning experience tangible during this remote distant learning period. We love our students more than you can think! When we meet for live virtual lessons, we hear them saying they have run out of materials at home for their projects. They are excited to learn. They are trying very hard to keep positive. Each student presents different needs. Our students participate in the free school lunch program. Their families consist of families who work too many jobs to make ends meet while also struggling to support their children at home. Help us give them resources to make learning feel constant, in this ever changing moment.

My Project

Giving our 75 Grade 3 students highly engaging content, will help all students to grasp difficult concepts remotely-- with a library filled with visual interactive resources! These materials provide visual understanding, activities, teacher student interaction, feedback and highly engaging ways to break down content. Our Special Education and ESL students will highly benefit in building a love for learning about words and content through meaningful well-crafted highly engaging content through Brain Pop and Flocabulary. These subscriptions are not just a platform, but resources that break concepts down. Encourage students to look up their curiosity. Allows me to assess and create meaningful extensions of our learning in the virtual classroom.
