Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are artistic and committed individuals that bring many assets to the classroom every day: they are sweet and inspiring teenagers that work hard, think critically, and are persistent.

My students also have special needs.

Forty percent of them have Special Needs, need an extra push to feel confident, and some of them require special accommodations.

My Project

Our intro to research class is about to embark on the fascinating story of the water quality evolution in the Hudson River. The water testing kits will help my students find out more about the health of the Hudson River Estuary (Our school is located three blocks from it)!

My students will do fieldwork in the Hudson River, will test the water quality of our estuary, and engage in citizen science.

From the data, students will be able to predict the future of the Hudson River and understand how to care more for our environment.
