My Students
My students come to me from a variety of backgrounds. Our school is a Title I building, where about 90 percent of my students receive free or reduced-price lunch. More than half of my students speak English as their second language, and several come to me from refugee camps.
Each of my students has unique home lives, but they all come to school eager and ready to learn and grow.
My students vary greatly in academic levels and abilities, and it is my goal to help close those gaps of understanding in their learning.
My Project
I am always working to find engaging books for my students that come from a variety of genres and cultures. My students love to read and they love to see themselves in the books that they read.
My students are always so grateful for new books, especially in today's world where they don't have access to school or public libraries.
I strive to bring meaningful, engaging and divers literature to my students no matter the situation we are in.
My students will love reading these new nonfiction and graphic novels and diverse chapter books.
