Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a Title I school and my students are excited to explore, to learn and to expand and broaden their horizons just to be given the opportunities that other children take for granted.

My students are sons and daughters of first generation immigrants who struggle sometimes to find the right path to success but they put forth maximum effort when given the right motivation.

They are unique in the sense that they are high achievers, despite facing the typical immigrant population challenges. Our overwhelming Hispanic population needs support but, given the right tools, will perform at a high level.

My Project

The requested Lenovo laptop and Sony wireless speakers will provide videos and sounds to the lessons. They will help my students visit Brain Pop and the Tumble books library adding value (traveling through books) and excitement (vivid diagrams and animations in science) to their learning experience. In fact, it will turn learning more didactic and interactive, thus fostering students that do not usually excel at just reading books. Many of the activities and lessons in Brain Pop involve science and applied science so the short videos are a must to present and review material in a way that is tangible and accessible. It brings the lesson alive in areas where they lack background knowledge.

This project will provide a tool that will be tailored to assist students that need more visual and sounds to learn.

It will optimize learning using multiple media, hence targeting the students' different and unique learning styles!
