Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

To enhance the effectiveness of our intervention programs, we are requesting funding for a few key supplies: a laminating machine, handheld whiteboards, a whiteboard with a stand, and desk organizers. These items will play a crucial role in meeting the diverse needs of students who require additional academic support. Here’s why each item is vital:

1.

Laminating Machine

A laminating machine will allow the teacher to create durable, reusable materials. This is especially important for intervention programs that require frequent practice with flashcards, charts, worksheets, and games.

2. Handheld Whiteboards

Handheld whiteboards give students an interactive and engaging way to demonstrate their understanding. They can write down answers quickly, practice writing skills, or draw diagrams in response to questions. This immediate feedback mechanism helps see student’s progress in real-time, and the portable nature of these whiteboards allows for more personalized instruction, especially in small group settings.

3. Whiteboard with Stand

A whiteboard on a stand provides a large, visible space for whole-group instruction, while also allowing for easier transitions between activities. It is essential for explaining concepts, guiding collaborative work, and writing down key points that all students can see. In an intervention setting, the teacher often needs to write examples, draw pictures, and highlight important lessons. A portable, stand-mounted whiteboard allows for flexibility in how the class is set up and enables active, student-centered learning.

4. Desk Organizers

Desk organizers are essential for maintaining an orderly, focused learning environment. Intervention students often require additional support in staying organized, and having a place to store pencils, markers, paper, and other materials will help them remain focused on the lesson. By reducing distractions, desk organizers help students maintain attention and engagement during their interventions. A well-organized space can also promote a sense of responsibility and independence.
