My Students

My students are a fun loving bunch. They are all students with non verbal Autism at a District 75 school in Bed Stuy Brooklyn.

I am in a 6:1:1 classroom with 5 students.

My students range in age from 4 years old to 7 years old. My students require a large amount sensory stimulation and activities to keep them engaged in learning.

This is my first year teaching and I am enjoying the puzzle of figuring out my students wants and needs. My students and I would appreciate and utilize any support you can give us.

My Project

A trampoline is a great way for some of my high energy students to thrive in class. We will use during movement breaks and to help students unwind after intensive learning. For many of my students normal concentration times can be taxing and the trampoline will allow to expel energy so they can more readily focus on tasks within the classroom. Being a special education teacher is an imperfect art form and requires a multifaceted classroom that adapts to the students ever present and demanding set of needs. Thank you for your help.
