Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

What is energy? Is it light? Electricity? Sound? Where does electricity go? How is energy made? I want to clear these questions from the minds of my students, and replace them with a confidence in their knowledge of energy.

My kids are an inquisitive bunch of young scientists in the fifth grade.

My children don't tend to have a lot of money. This makes school a very important place for these kids. Most of the families at our school are low-income. The challenges for some of our kids are very great.

My Project

Energy is a crazy concept. There is so much to it. Each form seems so different from the other, and yet they are all so closely connected. This project will help kids to understand energy and its many transformations. Making the complicated things seem like easy things will build confidence and serve as a great knowledge base for years to come.

Energy is so important!

Think of everything it affects. You, me... everything! I want to give these students a strong base that they will use for all their future scientific learning, not to mention for all their lives. You can play such an important part in this goal.
