Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our students are an energetic and enthusiastic group of learners who love physical activity and outdoor play. Recess is their favorite time to explore, engage with peers, and stay active. Many of them thrive when they have opportunities to play team sports, develop their motor skills, and practice leadership in structured, fun environments.

Our students deserve access to high-quality sports equipment and tools to foster teamwork and leadership during their playtime.

These resources will empower our student leaders and ensure every child has an active, inclusive, and enjoyable recess.

I am requesting equipment and organizational tools to enhance our recess experience. We are asking for:

• Sports Equipment: Soccer balls, footballs, tall cones, and portable soccer goals to support team sports and active play.

• Organizational Tools: A foldable wagon to store and transport equipment to and from the playground efficiently.

• Leadership Materials: Two canopy chairs for our student leaders to use while managing equipment check-out and check-in during morning recess and lunch breaks.

These resources will provide our students with opportunities to build skills in teamwork, sportsmanship, and leadership. The sports equipment will encourage physical activity, while the leadership tools will teach responsibility and organization as student leaders manage the inventory.

This project will:

• Increase Physical Activity: Providing a variety of sports equipment will keep students active and engaged, promoting physical and mental health.

• Encourage Leadership: Student leaders will take charge of organizing and managing the equipment, learning valuable skills in responsibility, organization, and communication.

• Build Community: Sports encourage collaboration and teamwork, helping students develop stronger social connections and conflict resolution skills.

By supporting this project, you’ll bring joy to hundreds of children during their recess time and foster leadership skills that will last a lifetime.
