Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I coach and teach in a low-income/high-poverty school district. My players are faced with challenges both on and off the field. Despite the many difficulties and challenges they face, we turn to athletics to provide hope. Correlating the athletics and meaningful life learning experiences provide my students with an opportunity to achieve some of their dreams. Our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with over 60% of our students receiving free lunch. There are a multitude of teams and clubs that fit the needs of everyone.

My Project

The use of the endzone camera and tripod, will give the players a clearer view of the game or practice. It will allow the coaches to be able to better evaluate the play of the players. The team will have access to video in practice to be able to see their mistakes and be able to correct them on a daily basis. This will enhance the play not only during the week, but in the game as well. This project will only help enrich their experiences and prepare them for an in deep film study at the collegiate level.
