Many of my students are experiencing their first year of school. Our elementary school is located in a low-income neighborhood with many households considered as being high-poverty. However, we do not let these factors define us. One's socioeconomic status should not define a person. Instead, one's desire to achieve, self-esteem, kindness, compassion, and work ethic are far important measurements to define a person.
In our classroom, we remind ourselves daily that we are "Can Do Kids" who can do ANYTHING!" I am so proud of of my students for working hard each day.
They are learning crucial foundational reading, writing, and math skills. At the same time, they are also learning the importance of being a team player, developing a strong work ethic, compassion for others, and establishing a strong level of self-confidence. I have no doubt that my students will be successful in whatever they choose to pursue in their future lives.
My students are working on learning basic reading, writing, and math skills. They need a wide variety, and range, of manipulatives to use during center time. Providing learning opportunities that are not technology based is still an important part of kindergarten. A refillable tank printer will allow me to print a variety of activities for every skill . I will laminate these activities, which allows them to be used for many years to come! Affordable printing will also allow me to continue printing flashcards for each child that are specific to what they need to practice.
Printing and laminating activities allows me to create a wide variety of hands-on manipulatives, that are fun and engaging for my students, at a small fraction of what they would cost to purchase.
My students enjoy using the things I have already made for them, but we need new ones for the new skills we are learning. The regular inkjet printer I have requires ink cartridges. However, they are too expensive to use on a regular basis. Our school does not have a color printer to create these resources for my students. The Epson EcoTank Color Cartridge-Free Supertank Printer and lamination pouches will allow me to make an almost endless amount of manipulatives for this class and future classes to use and enjoy as they are learning.
