Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is a Title I school where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Our school population is majority Latino, but we do service African American, Caucasian, Muslim and Chinese families. Students come into the classroom every day ready to learn, and for many of my students, I am their gateway to an academically enriched environment.

My prekindergarten students are young explorers and demand to be challenged and engaged at all times, my classroom is an adventure every day.

My Project

With the school year coming to an end. My remote students and their families have been working extremely hard. Therefore we have decided on a stepping up ceremony (they deserve it) outside and following all department of health and school wide covid rules.

This will be a great and hopeful ending to a unique school experience for my Prekindergarten students and their families.

Having an end of year appreciation ceremony will allow them to see classmates in person and share an experience that will normalize life for them just a little. Remote teaching and learning has been hard on students and families.

The materials requested will make our ceremony much more special by having a theme that is relevant to their educational journey and how far they can go. Also the coordinating outfits will have them connect in a fun and exciting way,
