Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

For the last seven years, I have been provided the opportunity to be the Counselor for the most incredible middle school students. The boys and girls that I have the privilege of spending the school year with are not only intelligent in and out of the classroom but as a whole child, they are ambitious, goal oriented, courageous, and exceptional. Although you never know what to expect each school day, one thing is for sure, my students will be the sunshine on every cloudy day.

My students will strongly benefit from having resources to support their mental health wellbeing which will allow them enhance their knowledge and skills in areas such as anxiety and stress management, self confidence, self love, mindfulness, and self care.

Beyond entering the school building to learn their academics, each day, my students enter the school building with tons of emotions and feelings that create a huge impact on their academic, social and emotional learning.

Providing our students with the opportunity to focus and learn about their mental health while also making it a priority each and everyday will also continue to teach them that everyone has mental health and it is just as important to focus on as it is their academics.
