Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a school social worker, I work with grades K to 8. During counseling sessions, my 5th graders, who are menstruating for the first time, expressed fear and struggles of not having available menstrual products when they are in the bathroom. I have had students leave the classroom multiple times, in the same class period, due to being fearful of not using enough toilet paper (as a pad) during their period. This is a worry no student should have to feel during their already stressful school day.

Help our middle schoolers receive a variety of menstrual products they do not have access to at PS 210.

The liners, different size pads, and flushable wipes will make their monthly visit from Aunt Flo so much more comfortable.
