This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Howdy! Every day, I strive to create an environment where my students feel safe to take risks, explore new ideas, and embrace challenges. I have been reading Building Thinking Classrooms by Peter Liljedahl, and I believe his practices really inspire students to become active participants in their learning journey.

One of my main goals is to transform my math classroom into a space where students feel inspired and empowered to take intellectual risks.

Whether it's solving complex problems, trying out new strategies, or learning from mistakes, I want my students to know that it's okay to fail, as long as they are willing to keep trying.

To make this vision a reality, I need the supplies listed. The standing desks will replace some of the individual learning desks in my classroom. The whiteboard marker holders will be used at the vertical whiteboard spaces where my students will be working collaboratively. The lights will be used as a signal for assistance at the vertical spaces. Finally, the fidget toys are for students to help ground themselves as middle school can be a trying time.
