Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This year in our bilingual classroom, we want to be able to help our ELL students develop their language skills. The class consists of students that are new to the country and/or have been living in the US for less than a year. Our students need support in all common core subjects, especially reading and writing. Our class is a special group of students that enjoys learning new things. Their interests are space, nature, seasons, drawing, coloring and telling stories.

If we get funded, these materials will help them learn to read with ease and confidence.

The goals for this project are to help support our students learning and focus. It can be overwhelming for a child to enter a school and find learning difficult because they don’t know the language or haven't yet learned the proper skills. Using the help of my co-teacher and I, we would like to support our class in any way we can.

These materials will help support them in many ways. The Brother MFC-J1010DW Wireless Color Inkjet All-in-One Printer will support students in providing them with teacher-created, colorful visuals and worksheets to support their work. The Learning Resources Alphabet Marks The Spot Floor Mat will support with letters, sounds and spelling words identification. Phonics First Little Readers (Classroom Set): A Big Collection of Decodable Readers That Teach Key Phonics Skills will support my learners in reading and identifying CVC words to strengthen their reading skills.
