I'm excited to launch this project for my amazing 4th graders! I have a variety of student needs in my class, including students with disabilities and newcomers with limited English. This project will support in creating a sense of community, building confidence, and fostering a love of learning.
Students learn best when they have options to move to different seating choices throughout the classroom.
Having new stools and cushions would allow my students the ability to focus on their learning whether they are working independently or with a group. In addition, having the chair bands placed on the bottoms of classroom chairs could allow students to move their feet while completing a task.
Who doesn't love to earn prizes when they've worked hard? The squishies and stickers are some of my fourth graders favorite things! Also, students will be able to use the beads and chenille sticks to make fun little crafts. Earning prizes and craft time will continue to motivate students throughout the school year.
A few of the other items requested will support students in all areas of learning. The headphones will support online instruction as students access online components throughout reading, mathematics, science, and social studies.
The sand timers will help students needing a short break track the break time independently.
Learning should be fun for students. The playing cards will be used in a variety of ways to support number sense and math facts. In addition, the long jump ropes and gatorskin foam ball will assist in developing coordination and teamwork during our PE time.
