My Project
At our Jr/Sr High we have the most amazing students. They are creative, caring and community minded. I am continually impressed with their sense of school pride and how they treat one another.
A lot of our students struggle with mental health concerns.
Anxiety and depression are on the rise and we have more students dealing with mental health challenges and struggling to cope in school. In addition we have a lot of students living in poverty. They are coming to school hungry.
The items we are requesting will help our students learn calming strategies to help regulate their emotions. It is important for students to learn coping strategies, that is our goal. In order to learn what works best, students need to practice different strategies. Snacks are always an added benefit. Many of our students come to school hungry making it difficult to learn and control emotions.
Typically we supply snacks using our own money. We love our students and want to do what is best for them. However, we are feeling the impact on our paychecks as grocery prices keep increasing. Any help is much appreciated!
