Enabling Myself to Support Reading Impaired Students

I need to be better prepared to meet the needs of incoming dyslexic students and other reading challenged students.

My Project

More and more students are coming to us reading challenged. It is not a case of not trying or not wanting to read. A lot of these kids are unable to process the information and instruction the way we have been taught to provide it. When we know better, we can do better. It's time for me to know and do better!

This program will enable me to do just that.

It will equip me to be a better reading teacher. I want my students to not see reading as a punishment or wall they can't climb. I want them to explore the world and themselves through the books they read. For a lot of my students, I need something more to enable them to succeed as readers, and process written materials.
