This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
I am an English teacher in a new school in a high - need community in Brooklyn, New York. I teach 9th grade students. Right now, we only have a 9th grade. We are a small school of only 81 students and we have a very small budget. We need books to create a classroom library so that our students can love literature!
We have four bookshelves in our classroom that are empty. We have a very small budget and not enough money to purchase books to fill up these bookshelves.
We need independent reading titles to fill up these bookshelves. This will serve the students because they can expand on their love of literature.
Please make it possible for my students to foster their love of literature and reading. Please fill up our empty bookshelves in Brooklyn.
