This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

For this project, I am seeking equipment and resources that will greatly assist in the expansion of our Weightlifting Club. This initiative will provide our students with a valuable opportunity to build both physical strength and healthy habits of mind. MBA is a title 1 high school which primarily serves students from low income households. This equipment can help provide opportunities and resources that may otherwise not be available. The requested equipment includes barbells, squat stands, bumper plates, rubber matting, and various small accessories. This investment will significantly enhance our Weightlifting Club by providing the necessary tools for effective training. By investing in our students today, we are laying the groundwork for their future as healthy, active individuals.

Weightlifting is a lifelong sport that promotes overall health and well-being. I was introduced to weightlifting in high school and have since competed nationally in the sport. By engaging students in weightlifting at an early age, we can provide them with a solid foundation for lifelong health and fitness. This program will help develop valuable life skills such as discipline, dedication, and self-esteem. Weightlifting has done this in my life and together we can empower this generation to embrace a healthy lifestyle that will serve them well beyond the gym and throughout their life.
