This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are bright, enthusiastic, and eager to learn, but many of them face challenges in developing foundational reading and speech skills. These challenges can create barriers to their academic success and confidence. I am committed to providing them with the tools they need to overcome these hurdles and thrive.

To support my students’ literacy development, I am requesting the Hand2mind Mirror My Sounds Phoneme Set.

This incredible resource includes phonics games, phonemic awareness tools, letter sound activities, and speech therapy materials. These hands-on tools will engage my students in meaningful and interactive ways, making the process of learning to read and articulate sounds fun and effective.

Phonemic awareness and phonics are the building blocks of reading and communication. With these Hand2mind sets, my students will be able to:

1. Improve Phonemic Awareness: They will practice isolating and identifying sounds in words, a critical step in learning to read.

2. Enhance Speech Skills: The materials are perfect for students who struggle with speech sounds, providing targeted practice through engaging activities.

3. Boost Confidence: By using tools that make learning accessible and enjoyable, my students will gain the confidence they need to succeed academically.

4. Close Learning Gaps: Many of my students need extra support due to language barriers or developmental delays. These tools will provide differentiated learning opportunities tailored to their needs.
