My Project

I absolutely love my students’ curiosity and resilience. Despite the many challenges they face, they bring unique perspectives and immense potential to our classroom every day. Their drive to learn and grow is inspiring, and their determination to succeed is unmatched. My goal for this project is to create an inclusive, nurturing environment that supports their emotional growth and fosters a love for reading and learning.

The resources I’m requesting will have a profound impact on their education and absolutely transformative.

The diverse, inclusive books will expose my students to new perspectives, inspiring empathy and broadening their understanding of the world. These books highlight underrepresented voices, telling stories that reflect my students' experiences while helping them see the world through the eyes of others. When they see themselves in the pages of a book, they feel valued, heard, and connected to the broader world. These stories will empower them to take pride in who they are and embrace the differences in others.

The cozy seating options, like the floor cushions and cubby bench cushion, will create comfortable, safe spaces for reading, collaborative activities, and self-reflection. These items will help foster emotional growth by providing a calming place for my students to focus, share ideas, and engage with one another. It’s important for them to have a space that feels safe and welcoming, where they can confidently express themselves and build meaningful connections with their peers.

This project is about giving my students the tools and environment they need to thrive—academically, socially, and emotionally. They are a special group of learners with immense potential. With the right resources, they will not only succeed but grow into compassionate, confident individuals ready to make their mark on the world.
